Deb is a highly experienced ecological architect with a passion for designing buildings and places that work in harmony with nature. Her journey into sustainable architecture began in the early 1990s while studying at the University of Liverpool, where her deep commitment to environmental values took root.

With over 20 years’ experience in the field, Deb has worked with renowned practices including Austin Design Works and collaborated closely with therapeutic architect and author Christopher Day. Her work reflects a deep integration of ecological, social, and aesthetic values, with a focus on low-impact living and regenerative design.

Deb holds certifications as a Passive House Designer and Permaculture Design Practitioner, which inform her systems-thinking approach to every project—from energy performance to ecological landscaping.

Deb is married to, Ross Elliott, the renewable energy technical manager at Cotswold Energy. Together, they form a unique cross-disciplinary team that combines architecture, renewables, and sustainable systems thinking.

In their most recent personal project, Deb and Ross are undertaking a whole-house retrofit of their semi-rural home to meet EnerPHit (Passivhaus retrofit) standards. The design also follows permaculture principles and includes the development of a Backyard Forest Garden, contributing to a long-term vision for resilient, landscape-led living.

In addition to running her practice, Deb lectures part-time in Sustainable Construction Technology at the University of Cheltenham and is currently preparing to lead a new research programme focused on aligning the built environment with Cradle to Cradle sustainability frameworks and global regenerative goals.
