“Creating multiple social spaces accessible to all children to enhance mental and physical wellbeing”

THE Canteen:

The proposed scheme seeks to combine three existing rooms to create one open plan space and to enable “outside / inside” flow of students.

Project Brief:

• 􏰀The canteen must be an open and bright space with more natural light

• Seating area improvements (different levels to enable ‘access for all’, sizes of tables, places to ‘eat and go’ and places to ‘eat and stay’.

• 􏰀Nutritional information and vegetarian /vegan options clearly marked.

• 􏰀Encourage healthy eating through design / decoration / messages

• 􏰀Improve flow of students through the canteen / less queuing

• 􏰀Modern rustic – linking to the countryside (unpainted wood, flowers etc.)

• The canteen must be eco friendly
